Active Directory (AD) Integration with Timelabs

Modified on Wed, 31 Dec at 10:01 AM

With Active Directory (AD) integration, customers can map their local AD users to Timelabs employees. Once configured, both Employees and HR users can log in to the Timelabs Web Portal using their AD credentials.

This eliminates the need to remember separate Timelabs Employee Codes and passwords for accessing the ESS web portal. AD integration also supports auto-login, allowing users to be automatically authenticated when they access the Timelabs URL from a domain-joined system.

Prerequisites & Requirements for AD Integration:

Please ensure the following requirements are met before enabling AD integration:

  • Timelabs must be installed within the customer’s local network to support AD integration.

  • This integration supports on-premise (local) Active Directory only. Azure AD is not supported.

  • A valid LDAP path is required for integration. Example:
    LDAP://OU=Users,DC=example,DC=com

  • The 'Windows Authentication' feature must be installed and enabled in IIS on the Timelabs server.

  • AD integration is supported only for the Timelabs Web Portal. The Mobile App does not support AD authentication. Mobile users must log in using their Employee Code and ESS password.
