Question : How do employees apply for a Leave Without Pay' request in ESS when they don't have any leave balance?

Answer : Employees can apply for a 'Leave Without Pay' request in ESS when they don't have any leave balance. But first Admin has to enable 'Leave Without Pay' feature from ESS module. To Enable the same Login in ESS with System User -> Go to Settings -> Employees Settings page:

This will open you below ESS Setting page. Here enable 'Apply Leave in case of no leave balance' and Save the settings:

Now when employees login in ESS portal, they will find 'Leave Without Pay' option under the Category on 'Apply New Leave' section:

Employee needs to select Category as 'Leave Without Pay' here to apply for a LWP request.
