In Timelabs Payroll few predefined PT Groups and their PT Rates are already available. If a PT group for a particular State is missing or if you want to update new PT rates in an existing PT Group, please follow below steps:


1. Go to Setup menu and click on PT Group & Rates:


2. On next screen you will see some predefined PT Groups on the page. To add a new PT group for your desired State, click on 'Add New' button:



3. Next, select State from the drop down and fill-up other mandatory details and at last Save the details.


Field description:


Select State  Select the state for which you want to create PT group.

PT Group Name  Enter Group name here. We suggest you to put State Name here as Group Name.

PT Group Code  Enter a Code for PT group.
Return Period – 
Select return period (Monthly, Half Yearly or Yearly). PT will be deducted according to this period.
Certificate No – 
Put Certificate Number if available.
PTO Circle No  
Put Circle Number if available.
Address – 
Fill up address here.
PT Rates are categorized on gender basis  
If PT is categorized gender wise in the state for which PT group is going to be created, then turn ON this setting.

4. On Saving PT group, it will started to show under the group list. Now click on View/Edit icon to update PT rates:


5. Next you will be presented below page:



A. Group Details Edit Button: Click here to update PT Group details.



B. Change PT Rates with WEF Date : To update PT rates for selected Group click here. Enter new WEF date on next screen and save the same. To update PT rate follow Step C.



C. PT Rates Edit Button : Select WEF date from the drop down first and then click on Edit button.


Clicking on Edit button will take you to the PT Rate update page.



Update Min, Max and Tax Amount here. Select Change mode as 'Change for All Month' which will update PT rate for entire FY, or select mode as 'Change for selected month' which will update PT rates for the selected Month only. At last save the settings.
